Welcome to PMOStep Project Management Office Framework

Organizations around the world are implementing formal project management processes and disciplines to deliver their work initiatives on time, within budget and to an agreed upon level of quality. Part of the ability to execute better, faster and cheaper comes from your ability to implement common project management processes and practices. Many organizations have attempted to deploy common processes and build competencies by creating a Project Management Office (PMO).

*** PMOStep ***

PMOStep is a TenStep internal methodology.  We do not license it to companies or individuals unless we are working with a company on a services engagement.

TenStep can help you understand how to best define and utilize a PMO within your organization - using our model that results in a Value-Add PMO.

Our services include:

PMONow! The Quick PMO Startup Service - Build a PMO Roadmap for a new Value-Add PMO or to re-synch an existing PMO to ensure you are providing value.

Virtual PMO - Gain the value of a PMO by utilizing our expert staff on a full-time or part-time basis.

PMO Scorecard - Measuring the Value of Your PMO - Create a holistic scorecard to identify and measure the value and success of the PMO.

All else! We have products and services to perform any of the responsibilities of a PMO. This includes methodology customization, methodology deployment, portfolio optimization, setting up governance processes, project assessments, training and much more. Click here for more information.

A Project Management Office can add significant value to your projects and to your entire organization. Deploying your methodology is not a trivial affair. Contact us at admin@TenStep.com for more information on how we can help you create a Value-Add PMO in your organization.

People often wonder what it will take to implement a PMO. The answer is “it depends”. It depends on the specific needs of each organization and the vision for how each PMO will help meet the needs. There are many potential products and services that a PMO can be responsible for depending on the needs of the organization. The PMO is typically responsible for acquiring and deploying a common project management process to the rest of the organization. However, they can also do much more, including training and coaching, project audits, consolidated project status reporting, project management certification, portfolio management, etc.

Many PMOs focus too much on internal activities and not enough on providing value to the rest of the organization. These PMOs think their job is to design new processes and templates. At TenStep, we focus on making sure the PMO provides value to the organization. We call this the" Value Add PMO”.
